Workers, Employees, and Contractors on Live Music Events

This section provides guidance for individuals working at live music events, whether as employees or contractors. It can be read alongside the Guidance on Resources for the Live Music Sector.

Everyone has a role in preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and at live events. You can:

  • Model respectful behaviour at all times (see Code of Conduct for guidance)

  • Use bystander intervention to respond to inappropriate behaviour

  • Check for workplace policies by asking your manager about sexual harassment policies and where to find them

  • Support improvements by discussing prevention measures with your manager (e.g. using SoundCheck Aotearoa resources such as policies, posters, training, and briefings)

  • Undertake training to build your understanding of preventing and responding to sexual harassment

Support and information for workers

If you need information or support for sexual harassment experienced by you, a colleague, or a friend, refer to your workplace sexual harassment policy and see our Get Help page.
