SHAPRA Service
Our Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Advisor (SHAPRA) service is a free, confidential, and independent channel to access professional advice, guidance, and support when its needed.
This service is available to all people within the Aotearoa music community regardless of role, worker status, expertise, and workplace environment.

Friends, whānau, bystanders, colleagues, and members of the public who have engaged with someone working in the Aotearoa music community.

Our SHAPRA service is available to any PCBU seeking guidance on preventing harm or responding safely to situations involving harm in their workplaces, community spaces, or projects. This includes artists, bands, and the teams that function around them to venues, promoters, business owners, and managers.

Everyone is welcome to access the SHAPRA service, regardless of worker status.

Please note: Our SHAPRA service is a confidential advisory service that provides guidance, information, and support. It is not a complaints or reporting channel. We do not receive, manage, or investigate complaints. We can however provide information about appropriate reporting and complaints pathways available if needed.Book a consultation

Operating hours
Monday to Friday, 9-5pm NZT
Our SHAPRA service operates on a part-time basis within regular business hours. For 24/7 crisis support around sexual harm, please contact Safe To Talk (0800 044 334 or text 4334). For emergencies and where there is threat to life, please call 111.

Your privacy and confidentiality are respected and maintained at all times, regardless of your situation or circumstances.
Any information you share with the SHAPRA will be kept and managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. In all cases, our SHAPRA will treat your information with care, sensitivity, and respect, and will talk with you about your privacy and confidentiality of information.
You are welcome to share as much or as little information as you feel comfortable. If you prefer to make contact anonymously, you can do so by calling 021 222 9169.
